Hospital is the medical campus of the largest private medical school in the U.S.
LOS ANGELES, CA -- AUGUST 11, 2010 - Aptium Oncology has signed a consulting services agreement with St. Peter's University Hospital, a 478-bed teaching hospital that provides a broad array of services to central New Jersey. Located in New Brunswick, 31 miles southwest of Manhattan, the non-profit, acute care facility is sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen and is a member of the Saint Peter's Healthcare System. It is a medical campus of Drexel University College of Medicine, the largest private medical school in the nation.
As part of its strategic plan, St. Peter's University Hospital has engaged Aptium Oncology to provide business planning services designed to broaden the hospital's scope of cancer care. Stephen Bordelon, Aptium Oncology's Executive Vice President of Business Development, states, "Aptium is privileged to work with an institution of St. Peter University Hospital's caliber and reputation. We look forward to collaborating with St. Peter's to develop a strategic path forward that will build on the strengths of its oncology service line and further enhance the services available to patients in the community."
Serving the healthcare needs of central New Jersey for more than a century, Saint Peter's University Hospital offers cancer care for both adults and children, including inpatient care and outpatient radiation and infusion services. Since 1985, its cancer program has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program, and most recently, became the first hospital in central New Jersey and the second in the state to earn accreditation for its breast cancer services. In addition, Saint Peter's is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and was the 10th hospital in the nation to be certified as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence by the American Nurse Credentialing Commission.
