Jack S. MacdonaldJohn S. Macdonald, MD
Chief Medical Officer, Aptium Oncology

Dr. Macdonald is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and trained in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. He is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and serves on the Oncology Subspecialty Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Macdonald, an internationally recognized oncologist with an interest in gastrointestinal cancers, has authored over 100 articles, book chapters and abstracts. He serves as the Chairman of the Gastrointestinal Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group. Dr. Macdonald also previously served as Medical Director to both the St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center in Manhattan, as well as Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center in Elizabeth, NJ.

Charles L. VogelCharles L. Vogel, MD
Senior Research Advisor for Breast Cancer, Aptium Oncology

An internationally recognized expert in the multi-disciplinary management of breast cancer, Dr. Vogel practices at the Lynn Regional Cancer Center West Campus of the Boca Raton Community Hospital. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the United States Public Health Service Commendation Medal, as well as the distinction of being one of the "Best Doctors in America.".Dr. Vogel is an acknowledged leader in cancer research and is currently Senior Research Advisor for Breast Cancer at Aptium Oncology. A graduate of Yale Medical School, Dr. Vogel has co-authored more than 420 reports and abstracts on breast cancer.

Charles L. VogelMohammad Jahanzeb, M.D., F.A.C.P.
National Program Director, Care Guidelines, Aptium Oncology
Medical Director, Lynn Cancer Institute West Campus

A highly respected practitioner, lecturer and researcher, Dr. Jahanzeb has authored or contributed to more than 100 original reports and abstracts on breast and lung cancer. In addition to serving on the NCCN Board of Directors since 2003, he has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including Best Doctors in America 2007-2008, Castle Connolly Medical Best Doctors 2006 and the 2006 Gold Medal Award from King Edward Medical College Alumni Association of North America. Dr. Jahanzeb is also a Research Director at the University of Tennessee Cancer Institute, where he maintains the rank of Professor of Medicine.

Dr. Jahanzeb received his medical degree with high honors from King Edward Medical College at the University of Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his internship and residency at the New Britain General Hospital of the University of Connecticut in New Britain, Connecticut. Dr. Jahanzeb went on to complete his Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Washington University, Department of Internal Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Oncology for more than two years. He also spent nearly seven years as Research Director at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Boca Raton, and served as Assistant Professor of Biomedical Research at Florida Atlantic University.

Wes ScruggsWes Scruggs
Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Aptium Oncology

Wes Scruggs joined Aptium Oncology in 1997 in time to tackle the Y2K and process re-engineering job that had been designed by KPMG and Aptium management. By April 1999, all infrastructure was upgraded to provide stable and cost-effective platforms for all administrative, clinical and business office operations. Scruggs has led the re-organization of the IT department to a highly skilled and centralized support organization. He was promoted from Vice President of Information Technology to CIO in 1999. Scruggs joined Aptium Oncology from Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he served as Vice President of Corporate Systems. Prior to Sony, he was the Director of IT Operations for HealthNet, a major HMO, for nine years. Scruggs obtained his MBA from Pepperdine University.

Paul O'DeaPaul O'Dea
Vice President and Executive Director, Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Cancer Center at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute

Paul O'Dea is the Executive Director of the Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Cancer Center (CSOCC). He was previously the Director of Pharmacy, and later the Associate Executive Director of Operations at the same center. He has held numerous other supervisory pharmacy positions with prestigious health care institutions, including UCLA and the Jules Stein Eye Clinic. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut in 1969. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, and has published and presented extensively.

Myra Gray FoutsMyra Gray Fouts
Vice President, Medical Affairs, Aptium Oncology

A part of Aptium Oncology, Inc. since 1992, Myra has held a number of positions at the corporate and operational level. She currently focuses on new business development and consulting projects with responsibilities that include space planning, clinical program development and clinical program implementation. Her recent projects include the development and design of the NYU Clinical Cancer Center and the Trinitas Cancer Center in New Jersey. Ms. Fouts has held the position of Vice President, Clinical Services at Aptium Oncology, and Director of Clinical Services and Director of Nursing at Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Cancer Center prior to her current role. Her experience also includes staff and administrative roles in inpatient, outpatient and short-stay oncology units. Ms. Fouts has a master’s degree in nursing administration and is credentialed in oncology,

Richard EmeryRichard Emery
Vice President & Executive Director, Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center

Richard Emery has been with Aptium Oncology since 1996. In April 2005, he was named Executive Director of Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center where he has overall management responsibility for the facility. Previously, Emery served as Administrative Director of Radiation Services for Aptium Oncology. He also served as Chief Physicist for St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center where he was responsible for the technical and operational direction of both Radiation Oncology and Diagnostic Radiology. Emery received his MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

William GussWilliam Guss
Vice President, Pharmacy Services

William Guss serves as Vice President, Pharmacy Services. His wide range of projects includes medication, oncology pharmacy and EMR systems, 340B federal drug program, and USP 797. He joined Aptium in May 1992 to help create and manage an Aptium subsidiary in home health care. Prior to joining the Company, he was a pharmacy specialist at UCLA Medical Center. He received his PharmD from the University of California at San Francisco and MBA from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management and is a Fellow of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

Timothy TylerTimothy Tyler
Director of Pharmacy Services, Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center

Dr. Tyler recently completed a four-year appointment on the APC Medicare Advisory Panel in Washington to help determine policy and payment in the CMS outpatient care arena. Currently he chairs the Legislative Affairs committee for the newly formed Hematology Oncology Pharmacists Association. In addition, he is Chairman for Seminar 2007 for the California Society of Health System Pharmacists. Dr. Tyler received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Southern California, and has written and lectured extensively on cancer and cancer supportive care issues.

Deane L. WolcottDeane L. Wolcott, MD
Vice President, Clinical Program Development

Dr. Wolcott is responsible for leading the development of oncology supportive care services for Aptium Oncology, including psychosocial, nutrition, pain and symptom management, spiritual counseling, and integrative oncology services. He joined Aptium in 1990 as Corporate Director of Psychosocial Services. He is an Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, UCLA School of Medicine, and held a full-time faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, UCLA School of Medicine, 1978-1990 and 1999-2000. He has over 70 scientific publications. He is also the Director of Development for Aptium Cancer Care, Aptium's UK/European subsidiary.

Rodney CooleyRodney Cooley
Vice President, Revenue Cycle

As Vice President, Revenue Cycle, Rod Cooley is responsible for oversight of the revenue cycle functions at Aptium-managed cancer centers, including registration, patient accounting and payer contracting. He is an expert on various third party payer mechanisms and their impact on outpatient oncology services, including Medicare OPPS. With over 25 years experience in healthcare finance, he is well versed in a variety of industry issues. Prior to joining Aptium, Mr. Cooley operated his own healthcare consulting firm for 11 years and received his initial training with Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse/Coopers. He holds a BA and MBA from the University of Washington, Seattle and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ronald B. NataleRonald B. Natale, MD
Medical Oncologist

An attending physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Natale is a recognized expert in lung, bladder and prostate cancers. He is also Director of the National Lung Cancer Research Program and Senior Research Advisor for the Solid Tumor Program for Aptium Oncology. Cited as one of the best cancer doctors, both locally and nationally, by various organizations, Dr. Natale has published over 200 articles and abstracts, authored several books and presented the results of his research at cancer research meetings all over the world. He has also held various faculty positions as the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) and at the University of Michigan.

Ron SohnRon Sohn
Director, Client Solutions

Ron Sohn is Director of Client Solutions for Aptium Oncology, where he works with cancer center management to assess internal and industry-wide operational best-practices and create avenues to reaffirm the value and benefits of the Aptium relationship to each hospital’s management and leadership team. Sohn earned his B.S. in Marketing at Northeastern University and his MBA in Operations Management from Bentley College. Sohn began his career in advertising, then spent eight years as Marketing Director for Simon & Schuster/Prentice Hall and Viacom/Paramount before launching his healthcare career developing marketing campaigns for Albany Medical Center. Sohn has been with Aptium Oncology for many years, beginning his employment as Director of Program Planning and Development at Aptium cancer center clients, including St. Vincent’s New York, and Trinitas Hospital in New Jersey, where he has been involved in administration, marketing, program planning and customer service. Sohn’s marketing programs have been featured in healthcare publications as well as in The Advisory Board’s Oncology Roundtable. He has also won several creative awards for advertising.
