An Experienced Management Team

Aptium Oncology offers hospitals access to a management team with clinical, operational and financial expertise in outpatient oncology management. This team works to support the centers in day-to-day management, implementing operational efficiencies, and evaluating new business opportunities.

Peter JessupPeter Jessup
Chief Executive Officer and President

Jessup joined Aptium Oncology in April 1997 as its General Counsel. He was named chief executive officer and president of the company in July 1999. Prior to joining the company, Jessup spent the early years of his career as a solicitor in private practice with Cameron McKenna in London, before joining Imperial Chemical Industries PLC (ICI), where he served as senior solicitor. He also served as senior counsel for ICI Americas, Inc. from 1988-1990. Following AstraZeneca's separation from ICI in 1993, Jessup was appointed a dual role as deputy solicitor for the Zeneca Group and member of its International Agrochemicals Business Team. He earned his master's degree in law from Queens' College, Cambridge, England.

John MacdonaldJohn S. Macdonald, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Macdonald is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and trained in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. He is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and serves on the Oncology Subspecialty Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Macdonald, an internationally recognized oncologist with an interest in gastrointestinal cancers, has authored over 100 articles, book chapters and abstracts. He serves as the Chairman of the Gastrointestinal Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group. Dr. Macdonald also serves as Medical Director to both the St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center in Manhattan, as well as Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center in Elizabeth, NJ.

Peter RogersPeter Rogers
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Rogers has been with Aptium Oncology since 1995, serving as Chief Financial Officer since 1997. Mr. Rogers spent the previous 17 years with Zeneca where he had responsibilities ranging from finance to territorial management to corporate strategy. Mr. Rogers received his MA in Metallurgy & Science of Materials from St. Edmond Hall, Oxford. He is an FCA and trained with KPMG.

Marc HeckselMarc L. Hecksel
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Hecksel was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Aptium Oncology in 2002. He is responsible for leading the overall operations of the cancer centers. Mr. Hecksel has nearly twenty years of experience in the health care industry. Prior to joining Aptium Oncology, Mr. Hecksel served as Vice President for the Industry Advantage Health System of the Motion Picture & Television Fund where he spent thirteen years and also held senior positions in finance and operations. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration from California State University, Northridge and a MBA from the University of La Verne.

Stephen BordelonStephen Bordelon
Executive Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Bordelon joined Aptium Oncology in February 1992. His responsibilities include developing and executing new business relationships. He held field operational finance positions for his first five and a half years with the company. Prior to joining Aptium Oncology he held a regional financial position with Pharmacy Corporation of America and a controllership position for a subsidiary of Foote, Cone & Belding. He is a Certified Public Accountant and practiced for five years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University.

Wes ScruggsWes Scruggs
Chief Information Officer

Mr. Scruggs joined Aptium Oncology in 1997 in time to tackle the Y2K and process re-engineering job that had been designed by KPMG and Aptium Oncology management. By April 1999, all infrastructure was upgraded to provide stable and cost effective platforms for all administrative, clinical and business office operations. Mr. Scruggs has led the re-organization of the IT department to a highly skilled and centralized support organization. He was promoted from Vice President of Information Technology to CIO in 1999. Mr. Scruggs joined Aptium Oncology from Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he served as Vice President of Corporate Systems. Prior to Sony, Mr. Scruggs was the Director of IT Operations for Health Net, a major HMO, for 9 years. Mr. Scruggs obtained his MBA from Pepperdine University.

Daniel E. WilburDaniel E. Wilbur
Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs and Administrative Services

Mr. Wilbur joined Aptium Oncology in April 1997 when Zeneca completed its purchase of Aptium Oncology. Employed by Zeneca since 1979, he had worked most recently in the Pharmaceutical and Specialties divisions of Zeneca. Mr. Wilbur's experience has largely been in Human Resources with responsibilities associated with Safety, Health and Environment, Communications and Total Quality Management. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Management from Indiana State University. Mr. Wilbur held the rank of Commander in the United States Naval Reserve before he retired in 1997.

Victoria B. CarringtonVictoria B. Carrington
Executive Vice President, General Counsel

Victoria B. Carrington has been with Aptium Oncology since November 1999. She advises the company regarding a wide variety of regulatory, commercial and operational issues. Prior to joining the company, Carrington was an associate in the Los Angeles, California office of Miller & Holguin and the Norfolk, Virginia office of Kaufman & Canoles. Carrington received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Richmond. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.
